J. Knutson (From Spirit of the West) & Brenda Bennett
Bio:
J. Knutson is a musician, singer/songwriter living in Vancouver, Canada. He was a founding member of the Canadian west coast contemporary folk band, “Spirit of the West.” Jay toured and recorded four albums with the band until his departure in 1988. He continued to perform and record as a solo artist releasing nine solo albums between 1993 to 2023 and also released two albums with the Vancouver based band, Early Spirit during that time. Jay is currently finishing his latest album, “Crooked Symmetry” to be released in January of 2026.
In 2007, J. Knutson was commissioned by The National Capitol Commission of Canada to write, perform, and record a song “1857-un Amour, une Histoire,” documenting the 150th anniversary of the founding of Ottawa as Canada’s federal capital.
